Deputy Governor Of Sumbawa Dewi Noviany Denies Being Examined For Procurement Of COVID Masks Only Gathering At The Police Station
The Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), examined the Deputy Regent (Wabup) of Sumbawa, Dewi Noviany regarding the procurement of masks in 2020-2021 which used APBD funds worth Rp12 billion.Mataram Police Chief Kombes Mustofa confirmed that his party through a corruption crime unit conducted an examination of Dewi."Yes, that's right. This examination is only a clarification about that (procurement of masks)," said Mustofa in Mataram, quoted from Antara, Monday, August 14.He revealed that in handling the ongoing case at the investigation stage, the corruption unit had previously investigated Dewi Noviany."So, for today only additional clarification," he said.Not only the Deputy Regent of Sumbawa who has undergone examination. However, there are several other witnesses related to the procurement project."If it is calculated, we have asked for clarification of hundreds of witnesses," he said.Furthermore, Mustofa emphasized that this case is still in the investigation stage. His party handled this case referring to the alleged violation of Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001."So, this case is still in the investigation process. It has not been investigated," said Mustofa.The Deputy Regent of Sumbawa was present before the police at around 09.00 WITA accompanied by a lawyer. The examination runs until 11.00 WITA. When met, Dewi dismissed that she provided information regarding the procurement of masks.Instead, he said that he only had a relationship with the police."No, just friendship," said Dewi.The procurement of masks is carried out through the NTB Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD). This project is running for handling COVID-19.
