The National Police's Trafficking Crime Task Force (TPPO) for the period from July 5 to August 9, 2023, has rescued 2,287 victims of trafficking in persons and arrested 898 suspects.

Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said that the disclosure and prosecution of TIPs could be revealed optimally after the TIP Task Force was formed on June 5, 2023 on the orders of the National Police Chief, General Pol. "In the two months of police reports received as many as 752 reports, the number of victims of TIP who were rescued was 2,287 people and the number of suspects was 898 people," said Ramadhan as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 10.

Based on the results of the analysis and evaluation (Anev) of the National Police's TIP Task Force, the mode of trafficking in persons carried out was dominated by migrant workers being used as household assistants, namely 514 incidents, then 219 commercial sex workers (PSK), 59 exploitation of children, and nine crew members. incident.

In order to optimize the prosecution and prevention of TIP in the country, he continued, the National Police Chief formed a TIP Task Force at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit level to the Regional Police ranks.

"The order for the formation of the TIP Task Force is to take firm action and prevent criminal acts of trafficking in persons," said Ramadhan.
