Drug Transactions In The Mode Of Wrapping Candy Filled With Methamphetamine Were Dismantled By The Karawang Police

KARAWANG - Karawang Police, West Java dismantled narcotics trafficking by filling candy packs with methamphetamine.

"The mode of filling the candy pack with methamphetamine, which is then stored at certain road points, is a new mode," said Head of Narcotics at the Karawang Police, AKP Arief Zaenal Arifin, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 7.

The perpetrators who circulated methamphetamine using the candy pack had the initials HK and TP. Both were arrested in a mall parking lot in the Karawang Kota area, on Tuesday (1/8).

From the arrest, the police confiscated methamphetamine which was stored in 12 packs of candy. Another evidence confiscated was 3.6 grams of ecstasy.

"The price per pack of candy containing methamphetamine is sold for IDR 1.3 million per pack," he said.

The way the transaction is, the candy that will be given to the buyer is stored on the side of the road as if the candy is falling. Then the candy was taken by the buyer without worrying about being suspected by people.

"So it's as if the candy fell and no one will find it except the person concerned," said Arief.

The perpetrator was charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Narcotics Law.

Meanwhile, in Operation Antik Lodaya 2023, the Karawang Police Narcotics Satres Team uncovered certain narcotics and hard drugs (OKT) by arresting eight suspects.

Arief said that there were seven Police Reports (LP) obtained from the anti-cultural operation.

"We get from each suspect the amount of evidence is varied and the total amount of shabu-shabu narcotics weighs 67.83 grams from five suspects and 6,500 OKT items from the two suspects," he said.

For the circulation of OKT, the perpetrators used the former stall building in the Tunggajati Village area, West Karawang District, as the location of the transaction.

"We got evidence that the perpetrator contracted 5,860 pills and the money from the sale amounted to Rp1.3 million," he said.

The alleged article for the perpetrators of the circulation of OKT is the Health Law Number 36 of 2009 with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison.
