Jokowi Asks China To Open Market Access More For Indonesian Products
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo asked the People's Republic of China (RRT) to open more market access for products from Indonesia in China.
This was conveyed by President Jokowi in a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Chengdu, as conveyed by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in an online press statement.
"In the meeting, the President asked for more market access on the RRT for Indonesian products," said Foreign Minister Retno after accompanying President Jokowi to meet Xi Jinping as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.
The President also welcomed the signing of the import protocol, in this case, is the import of RRT from Indonesia for porang flour and tabasheer powder, as well as encouraging the renewal of protocols and increasing the import quota for swallow nests, as well as the completion of the import protocol for Indonesian marine products.
Foreign Minister Retno conveyed that in general the bilateral meeting between President Widodo and President Xi mainly discussed strengthening mutually beneficial economic cooperation, by always considering the use of local and environmentally friendly personnel.

RRT is Indonesia's largest trading partner with a trade value last year reaching more than 133 billion US dollars. In recent years Indonesia's trade balance and RRT have been more balanced, even this year Indonesia has started a surplus.
