Missing A Day, Fisherman In Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan Found Dead
BANJARBARU - A fisherman who on Monday was reported drowned in Muara Pantai Bawah Layung, Lower Layung Village, Kurau District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province, was found dead. According to the Head of the Banjarmasin Search and Rescue Office Al Amrad, the fisherman's body was found on Tuesday at around 07.00 WITA about 100 meters from where he was reported to have drowned. "The 50-year-old fisherman's body named Mahfud has been taken to a funeral home in Sungai Rasau Village, Bumi Makmur District, Tanah Laut Regency," Amrad said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 25. Mohfud reportedly drowned while searching for shrimp in Muara Pantai Bawah Layung on Monday, July 24. The fishing boat was found in an inverted state.

After receiving a report regarding the accident, Amrad said, SAR officers conducted a search within a radius of up to 7.5 nautical miles from the Mahfud location and reportedly drowned. Amrad reminded fishermen not to go to sea during extreme weather conditions and high waves to avoid accidents.
