Not Using Apple CarPlay, Tesla Even Presents AirPlay Connectivity
JAKARTA - Car manufacturers always try to present models with the best features, one of which is the connectivity system. Even though it is not a sevital safety feature, connectivity features are important so that car users are entertained while in the vehicle.
One of the connectivity systems compatible with many cars today is Apple CarPlay. However, not all car brands adopt this technology, including Tesla. The feud between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Apple CEO Tim Cook, Tim Cook, is the reason Tesla doesn't use Apple CarPlay for its models. Even so, Tesla seems to be starting to open up by presenting other connectivity features from Apple, namely Apple AirPlay.
A report from CarBuzz on Sunday, July 16, revealed that Tesla has provided Apple AirPlay's connectivity feature through its latest update system, Tesla App 4.23. The post on Tesla investor's Twitter account, Sawyer Merritt, also strengthens this information by sharing links describing Apple AirPlay's availability.
Although there has been no official announcement yet, Musk previously stated that Tesla will discuss the integration of the AirPlay system with the company's audio engineers. This feature is expected to be available on some of Tesla's newest cars, including Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y. Apple AirPlay will allow users to enjoy good audio and video streaming quality, including music and podcasts.
To set the AirPlay settings, users must use Apple devices with the AirPlay app. The screen mirroring function through the "Share" feature on AirPlay is also expected to be part of the update.
