Deputy Secretary General Of PKB Reveals PDIP's Invitation To Coalition In The 2024 Presidential Election
JAKARTA - Deputy Secretary General (Wasekjen) of the PKB DPP Syaiful Huda revealed that the Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP Hasto Kristiyanto had expressed an invitation to PKB to form a coalition in the 2024 presidential election when visiting the PKB DPP office.
"Mas Hasto came there (DPP PKB) to invite discussions, including roughly saying yes, so far we have been with PKB-PDIP, we are together again about that. So, Hasto gave a hand to invite PKB," said Huda as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 12.
This was conveyed in response to questions related to the plan for a meeting between the General Chairperson of the National Awakening Party Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin and PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
"Look, (this) meeting with Mrs. Mega is an advanced phase," he said.
He said that PKB through its faction in parliament also held a meeting with the PDIP faction at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (4/7).
"Then interfraction met to discuss, including what had been discussed at Mas Hasto and then discussed in the faction. In that faction, plans emerged for Gus Imin's meeting with Mrs. Mega," he said.
Regarding the invitation to political cooperation from PDIP, Huda said that PKB has not yet made a decision because it depends on whether or not its party's sole proposal is accepted to carry Cak Imin as a candidate for vice president (cawapres).
"It depends on the PDIP because our proposal is single, wherever the coalition is, our proposal is single Cak Imin as a vice presidential candidate," he said.
Meanwhile, Huda emphasized that the plan to meet Cak Imin with Megawati was not carried out in conjunction with the plan of Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto who also wanted to meet with the former President.
"No, the route is different," he said.
