Sentenced To 5.5 Years In Prison, Prisoner In Semarang Prison Commits Suicide

SEMARANG - Police are handling the alleged suicide of one of the inmates at the Class 1 prison in Semarang, Central Java.

Kapolsek Ngaliyan Kompol Hendrie Suryo Liquisasono confirmed the incident that happened to a drug convict named Jefrie Andrang.

"The victim was found in Block H's room," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 10.

From the information gathered, the victim was first found by his cell mate.

The victim was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison who had just served a sentence of about 6 months.

Semarang Police Inafis officers visited the scene to conduct a crime scene (TKP).

The victim's body was then evacuated to Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang to determine the exact cause of death.

The police said there were no signs of violence against the 28-year-old prisoner.
