Hajj Pilgrims From Karimun Die When Arriving In Batam
A pilgrim from Karimun Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri) died when he arrived in Batam City.
Chairman of Group 1 Muhammad Sardi said upon arrival at Hang Nadim Batam Airport, the pilgrims were immediately evacuated by airport health workers to Bhayangkara Hospital, Riau Islands Police and declared dead at 18.30 WIB, Tuesday, July 4.
He explained that during the trip from Jeddah to Batam, the pilgrims on behalf of Akhmadi Sankarjo Mustarjo were in good health.
"We reported that one congregation from Karimun Kloter 01 had died after getting off the plane, at the Bhayangkara Hospital, the Riau Islands Police. In a medical history there were no complaints at all," said Sardi, quoted by ANTARA.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Departure and Receipt Division of the PPIH Hajj Debarkation, Hang Nadim Batam Edi Batara, said that based on data received, 22 Hajj from the Batam Embarkation, they were declared dead while undergoing the Hajj process in the Holy Land.
"Riau 9 people, Jambi 6 people, West Kalimantan 5 people, and Riau Islands 2 people," said Edi.

Edi Batara said as many as 369 pilgrims came from Karimun Regency, Lingga Regency, Anambas Islands Regency, Natuna Regency and Batam City.
Jamaah haji Kloter 01 Batam Debarkation departed from Jeddah Airport Saudi Arabia at 01.15 WAS and arrived at Kualanamu Airport in Medan at 13.30 WIB to refuel the plane, then arrived at Hang Nadim Batam Airport at 17.00 WIB.
