The Indonesian Men's Volleyball Team Is Ready To Compete In The AVC Challenge Cup 2023 With A Tough Squad

JAKARTA - After the Indonesian women's soccer team won the runner-up position at the AVC Challenge Cup 2023 which was held at GOR Tridharma, Gresik, on June 18-25, the men's volleyball national team is currently ready to enter a similar competition that will take place in Taiwan on July 8-15.

The Central Board of the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PP PBVSI) has sent 14 of the best volleyball players who have undergone a national training camp since June 7. However, there were four players who had to be sent home.

"Although four players did not go to Taiwan, they returned to their respective areas," said Deputy Head of Binpres PP PBVSI, Loudry Maspaitella, in a written statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.

The men's volleyball national team consisted of 18 players initially. However, because there were only 14 players in the quota, the four players who were not included in the list were Jasen N Kilanta, Luvi Febrian, Amin Kurnia Sandy Akbar, and Yudha Mardiansyah.

In addition to preparations for the AVC Challenge Cup in Taiwan, the athletes also underwent national training in preparation for the XIX/2023 Asian Games which will be held in Hangzhou, China on September 23-8 October.

In addition to the two competitions, Indonesian men's volleyball players will also participate in the 2023 Asian Men's Volleyball Champions which will be held in Iran on August 19-26.

At the 2023 AVC Challenge Cup, the Red and White team will be in Group F along with Sri Lanka and Bahrain.
