Corruption Of Hundreds Of Millions, Former Head Of Sei Dadap Village I/II Asahan Sentenced To 4 Years In Prison
The panel of judges at the Medan District Court on Monday sentenced the defendant Yantono, former Head of Plantation Village Sei Dadap I/II, Asahan Regency to four years in prison.
"In addition, the defendant Yantono was fined Rp. 200 million, a subsidiary of two months in prison," said Chief Judge Sulhanuddin at the Medan District Court as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 26.
The panel of judges assessed that the defendant was proven guilty of a criminal act of Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 has been amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
Namely, without rights and against the law with the intention of enriching oneself, other people or corporations which resulted in state financial losses of Rp. 223,378,000 related to the use of capital participation sourced from the Asahan Regency Government to Mekar Abadi Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) for the 2015-2019 fiscal year.
"The aggravating thing is that the defendant's actions contradict the government's program in eradicating corruption, and the defendant uses some state money (sourced from the Asahan Regency APBD)," said Sulhanuddin.
While mitigating things, said the panel of judges, the defendant admitted and regretted his actions and was polite at the trial.
In addition, the defendant Yantono was also sentenced to pay state financial losses of Rp. 223,378,000, subsidiary to one year in prison.

After the panel of judges read out the verdict, the defendant accepted the verdict while the prosecutor was still thinking about it.
