Police Investigate Cases Of Security Guard And Unram Employees Persecuting Demonstrators
The police investigated the actions of security unit officers (security guard) and employees of Mataram University (Unram), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) who were suspected of molesting demonstrators from students.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mataram Police, Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama, said that his party conducted an investigation based on reports of complaints from Unram students who were victims of persecution.
"Based on the complaint report we received on Tuesday (20/6), we conducted an investigation," said Yogi, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 21.
As a follow-up to the handling, the police have begun to schedule an examination of a number of parties involved in the alleged abuse.
Because it relates to the alleged criminal offense of Article 351 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution in the educational environment, Yogi said it was possible for his party to investigate from the Unram bureaucracy.
"Anyway, everything related to the report, we will check," he said.
The police are now waiting for the results of the post-mortem of the victim from the Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital.

The post-mortem on the injuries claimed by the victim as a result of the act of persecution was convinced by Yogi as part of the completeness of the evidence for the alleged abuse.
The alleged abuse in student demonstrations that took place on Tuesday (20/6) in front of the Unram Rectorate building was also recorded in several videos circulating on social media.
One of them, in a 25-second video, was recorded by a number of security guards forcibly securing one of the participants in the demonstration.
When the officer dragged the student into the Unram Rectorate building, it was seen that a man wearing a blue batik pattern secretly from behind hit him with a hard object that made the victim fall.
The students held a demonstration in front of the Unram Rectorate building by bringing a number of demands, one of which questioned the reason why the campus set the registration fee for new students for the independent route of Rp. 500 thousand.
