Kulon Progo Police Thwarts Delivery Of 20 People To Be Hired In New Zealand
KULON PROGO-Kulon Progo Resort Police, Yogyakarta Special Region, thwarted the alleged crime of trafficking in persons (TPPO) as many as 20 people who will be employed in New Zealand.
Head of Public Relations of the Kulon Progo Police, Iptu Triatmi Noviartuti, said that the disclosure of the TIP, namely on Thursday (15/6), around 11.00 WIB, members of the Intelligence and Security at the Temon Police received information that there was a plan to depart for prospective Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) who were suspected without official documents.
"Based on this information, the Temon Police Chief Kompol Tjatur Atmoko checked the whereabouts of the information at the KP Inn Hotel YIA Airport, Seling Hamlet. The hotel was obtained by a PM candidate)," said Triatmi Noviartuti as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 21.
From the statements of the 20 people, they will be used as migrant workers in New Zealand. Of the 20 people, two others are labor distribution coordinators to agents who will send them to New Zealand.
"However, during the examination of the completeness of the documents for the 20 prospective migrant workers, it turned out that they did not have valid documents," he said.
Triatmi Noviartuti said that based on the results of the examination, the previous PMI candidate was accommodated in Bali for 4 months and began staying at the KP Inn Hotel at YIA Airport, starting Monday, June 5, 2023. However, it turns out that it has not yet been dispatched because it is not equipped with legal documents.
From the results of the examination of the 20 people, two of them were the ones who recruited, and financed accommodation while in Yogyakarta, namely TH and ASP residents of Semarang City, Central Java.
Based on the results of the development examination, it has secured a married couple as recruiters, namely NR and DWA from Semarang City.
The victims of the alleged TIP, namely P, ARP, S,Y,S,F,M,S, SK, EW, ES, IS, DR, S, E, JP, and JS who are all residents of Grobogan Regency, Central Java.
"Furthermore, the 20 people were secured to the Kulon Progo Police for further investigation by the Kulon Progo Police Satreskrim," he said.

For the alleged TIP case, officers secured one guest book for the OYO KP INN Hotel YIA Airport, one printed photo of proof of transfer of BankBRI amounting to Rp45 million, one printed screenshot of a photo of the payment receipt of Rp50 million for the departure fee of prospective migrant workers.
In addition, the team secured a screenshot containing WhatsAppGroup called "Nad Makeup" with number 081280309890 whose real name is Vera. Then, a screenshot containing payment receipts amounted to Rp12 million in payment of the program to New Zealand.
"For now, the case is still being handled and the investigation is being developed by the Kulon Progo Police Satreskrim," he said.
