Basarnas Bali Evacuates KM Bandar Fisherman 271 On Fire
Bali Basarnas evacuated the fishing boat KM Bandar Fisherman 271 which caught fire in the South of Uluwatu or the Southwest of the Bulgari Resort, Badung Regency.
Head of the Operations and Alert Section of Basarnas Bali, I Wayan Suwena, said that as many as 31 Over Board (POB) personnel on the ship had survived and had been evacuated.
The evacuation process for KM Bandar Fisherman 271 was also assisted by KM Surya Bakti who happened to pass through the area when Basarnas Bali was on its way to the location.
The initial information was only received at 17.15 WITA even though the incident occurred at around 12.00 WITA.
KM Bandar Fisherman 271 caught fire in South Uluwatu at around 12.00 WITA, a puff of smoke was seen from a distance. The ship with 31 people has docked from Benoa Harbor to look for fish from 10.00 WITA," said Suwena as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 21.
Furthermore, Basarnas Bali dispatched six personnel to Benoa Harbor to use a Right Inflatable Boat (RIB) to the location of the burning ship.

The team finally arrived at 18.45 WITA at point 8°56'24 "S-115°02'960" T with sea waves ranging from 0.5 to 1 meter and immediately confirmed that the fishing boat that caught fire was empty.
The SAR team continues to coordinate with the agent KM Bandar Fisherman 271 and after receiving accurate information, all passengers were evacuated, finally RIB returned to Benoa Harbor.
Suwena said the characteristics of the fishing boat were like the dominant white and green colors with a length of 28.85 meters and a width of 8.70 meters.
