North Sumatra Labuhanbatu KIP Corruption Case Rises To Investigation
The North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has raised the status of investigations into investigations related to the criminal act of corruption in the misuse of Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) assistance funds at Al Wasliyah University (Univa) Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).
"Yes, it is true, that the handling of the corruption case at the Labuhanbatu University has been upgraded from investigation to investigation. The North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has found sufficient criminal acts and preliminary evidence in this case," said Head of North Sumatra Attorney General's Office Yos A Tarigan in Medan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 12.
The North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office has summoned a number of related parties for questioning, and also the team has conducted a case title in this case.
"The investigative team examined a number of people for questioning. The team held an expos case title based on the results obtained. It was decided that there was sufficient preliminary evidence to be escalated to an investigation into the alleged corruption case of misuse of KIP funds at Al Wasliyah University (Univa) Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra in 2021/2022," he said.
He said a number of students suspected of having cut KIP funds had been questioned.
"In order not to burden students coming to the city of Medan and also to be disturbed by the schedule of lectures, the students have been asked for clarification in Labuhanbatu, precisely at the Labuhanbatu Kejari office," he said.

Yos said 120 students had been questioned, and the process of summoning other students continued to 233 people.
"Furthermore, we support the work team and we will convey every development," he said.
The student has been questioned since mid-February 2023, and until now the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office is still conducting examinations of the campus and the student concerned.
The summons and examinations were based on an investigation warrant from the Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office Number: Print-01/L.2/Fd.2/01/2023 dated January 26, 2023.
