Police Name 10 Detainees As Suspects Of Persecution Of Curanmor Detainees To Death In Banyumas
PURWOKERTO- Banyumas Police, Central Java, named 10 suspects of abuse who allegedly resulted in the death of a detainee in a motorcycle theft case with the initials OK (26) after undergoing treatment at the hospital.
"The disclosure of this case stems from the report of the victim's parents, OK, dated June 5, 2023, which we followed up with an investigation," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banyumas Police, Kompol Agus Supriadi Siswanto, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 7.
From the results of the investigation and inspection of surveillance camera footage ("closed circuit television"/CCTV), his party found evidence of the involvement of 10 suspects in the OK persecution.
The ten suspects in the persecution were Banyumas Police detainees, namely, D, DW, AD, SA, YT, DA, LW, ZA, YA, and IW.
"The persecution case occurred when OK was only put in a detention cell on Thursday (18/5), at 17.50 WIB, three perpetrators asked the victim but they did not respond so they were annoyed and there was violence in a row," he explained.
According to him, the abuse was carried out by the perpetrators with their bare hands and with their feet.

In fact, he said, the perpetrators dragged the helpless victim into the bathroom and poured it with water.
"Officers guarding the detention room who heard the commotion at 18.20 WIB immediately went into the cell and took the victim out of the room. Then the victim was taken to the hospital," he said.
After undergoing treatment at the Prof Margono Soekarjo Hospital, Purwokerto, OK on Friday (2/6) died and his body was returned to the funeral home, Purwosari Village, Baturraden District, Banyumas.
"The victim had previously served 6 months in prison for being involved in the theft of birds in Baturraden," he explained.
