The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Calls East Idi Aceh Prison Prisoners Who Escaped Due To Officer Negligence

ACEH - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Aceh stated that inmates of the Class II B Idi Penitentiary, East Aceh Regency, fled due to negligence by officers."It was not intentional, but the negligence of the two officers because they did not carry out escorts at the point where they should be guarded," said Head of the Security and Detention and Service Division of the Aceh Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office Jefri Purnama in East Aceh, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 5.Previously, inmates of Class II B Penitentiary (Lapas) Idi Usman Sulaiman escaped while undergoing medical treatment at Zubir Mahmud Idi General Hospital, East Aceh Regency.Jefri Purnama said prison officers had implemented applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs). However, because of their negligence the narcotics convict managed to escape.The inmate escaped when Usman Sulaiman asked the officers for permission to go to the bathroom and asked the officers to take off the handcuffs."After the officers took off the handcuffs, the inmate Usman Sulaiman went straight to the bathroom where he was being treated on the grounds of defecating," said JefriNot long after, the two officers felt there was an irregularity because the inmates had been in the bathroom for too long. Then, checking and seeing Usman Sulaiman not in the bathroom."Officers found that the back door was unlocked and the supervision was reduced due to a wall blocking the vision between the mattress, bathroom and back door," he said.Regarding the accountability of the officers guarding, he said his party could not decide because it was still investigating the case of the escaped convict."We must not be careless in implementing disciplinary witnesses. We are still investigating until there are facts that witnesses can apply. However, the initial indication was due to negligence," he said.Head of Class II B Prison Idi Irham said Usman Sulaiman was a convict of methamphetamine with 25 kilograms of evidence. He was sentenced to 20 years."Usman Sulaiman fled Saturday (3/6) morning. He was treated in the VVIP room of Zubir Mahmud Hospital after surgery for neoplasma and cellulitis," said Irham.Irham said that according to the doctor who treated the prisoner if his illness was not treated, it would cause continued swelling, so that his condition would worsen."So, in detail, there is swelling in the right armpit that secretes the pus continuously so that he is determined to have surgery," he explained.
