Telkom Sends 89 Employees To Top 50 World Class Universities
JAKARTA - SOEs engaged in information and communication technology services (ICT) and telecommunications networks, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) recorded sending 89 employees to top 50 world-class universities, including in the United States, such as Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania, UC Berkeley, and New York University.
Several others have also been successfully accepted into the best universities in the UK, such as the University of Oxford, University College London, The University of Manchester, or The University of Edinburgh.
"Learning at world-class universities can provide our staff with the skills and additional qualifications needed in work," said Scholarship Program Manager of PT Telkom Indonesia Yuannita Sari in a press release, quoted from Antara, Monday, May 29.
Yuannita said intensive and focused academic programs will help employees deepen their understanding of specific fields and develop relevant skills. This can improve the quality of staff performance and make a positive contribution to the company's progress and benefits for the Indonesian nation.
To assist in the application process, Telkom also appointed a higher education consulting firm, Crimson Education, to guide PT Telkom employees to prepare to continue their education abroad.
"The support provided by Crimson Education includes profiling, organizing workshops related to admission preparations, starting from the preparation of statements, simulations of interviews and consultations 1 on 1 with strategic Crampson Education which has a background from leading universities in the world," said Yuannita.
Marketing and Strategic Partnership Director of Indonesia at Crimson Education Vanya Sunanto added that there are several reasons why companies send their staff to study at world-class universities.
"First, so that staff get deep skills and knowledge. World-class universities offer brilliant academic programs and focus on certain areas," he said.
