Minister Trenggono: Sarwono Kusumaatmadja A Figure In The Indonesian Marine And Fisheries Sector
JAKARTA - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono was shocked and saddened after receiving news of Sarwono Kusumaatmadja's death during his working visit in Fuzhou, China.
"He was surprised and saddened to hear this sad news," said Assistant to the Special Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Doni Ismanto, Friday, May 26, as quoted by Antara.
Trenggono through Doni conveyed this news also became the sorrow of the extended family of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP). According to him, the figure who served as Minister of KP for the 1999-2001 period was a role model and was very instrumental.
"For Minister Trenggono, the deceased is a role model and has contributed to the Indonesian marine and fisheries sector," he said.
Previously, the Minister of Environment in the Development Cabinet VI, Sarwono Kusumaatmadja, died in Penang, Malaysia, Friday, May 26, at 17.15 local time.
Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia Penang Bambang Suharto said Sarwono was still active as Chairman of the Climate Change Control Advisory Council, who died at the Adventist Hospital, Penang.

According to Bambang, the plan for the deceased to be flown to Jakarta on Saturday, May 27 afternoon. Sarwono will be buried at the funeral home on Jalan Belitung, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
Consul General Bambang, who visited the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in the National Unity Cabinet, was treated in Penang, saying all sons and daughters were there to accompany Sarwono at the last moment.
He said the Indonesian Consulate General in Penang was assisting in the process of repatriating the bodies as soon as possible, taking care of all the necessary documents and flights to Jakarta.
