Just Out Of Prison, Recidivists Arrested Again For Circulating Hard Drugs
PURWOKERTO - The Drug Investigation Unit Team of the City Police (Satresnarkoba Polresta) Banyumas, Central Java, arrested a recidivist in a case of abuse and trafficking of psychotropic drugs for repeating his actions again.
"Monday night, the Banyumas Police Narcotics Satres operational team arrested the reported initials JS (32) who is a recidivist in a case of abuse and circulation of psychotropic drugs that we handled last year," said Head of the Banyumas Police Narcotics Unit, Police Commissioner Mochammad Yogi Prawira, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 23.
In this case, he said, JS, who is an Acehnese and lives in Tegal, Central Java, had just left the Purwokerto Narcotics Correctional Institution around January 2023.
According to him, JS was actually sentenced to 14 months in prison, but only served a sentence at the Purwokerto Narcotics Prison for seven months for receiving a reduced sentence.
After leaving the Narcotics Prison, he said, his party monitored JS and it turned out that the person concerned was still circulating psychotropic drugs in the Banyumas Regency area.
"After we followed for three days, when we crossed the front of the Kalibogor gas station, the reported person met someone who was suspected of being related to one of the buyers of the drugs," he said.
When the Narcotics Satres Team was about to arrest the person concerned, he said, JS fought back by returning the car with license plate number A-1714-YP to hit two motorbikes and one car behind it because the situation was quite crowded.
According to him, the incident resulted in two people being injured, so his party took him for treatment and directed him to make a report on the destruction of motorized vehicles and the consequences of what was caused when JS fought back.
In fact, he said, the car used by JS was a vehicle used during the previous arrest and was used as evidence by the Banyumas Police Narcotics Unit.
