BPS Records East Kalimantan Exports Via 5 Ports January-April 2023 Capai IDR 92 Billion US Dollars

SAMARINDA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the non-oil and gas exports of East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) through five ports from January to April 2023 reached 9.2 billion US dollars.

"The non-oil and gas export from five ports in East Kalimantan, which amounted to 9.2 billion dollars, increased 243.06 percent compared to the January-April 2022 period which was only 2.68 billion dollars," said Head of BPS East Kalimantan Yusniar Juliana as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 17.

The first five ports, namely Samarinda Port for the January-April 2023 period, charged goods with a value of 3.08 billion dollars, a significant increase of up to 235 percent compared to the same period the previous year of 917.8 million dollars.

The second is that the Balikpapan Port contains non-oil and gas commodities worth US$2.32 billion, an increase of 224.17 percent compared to the same period the previous year which was recorded at 717.51 million dollars.

Third, Tanjung Bara Port in East Kutai Regency with a value of 1.58 billion dollars, or an increase of 174.52 percent compared to the previous period which was valued at 537.27 million dollars.

Fourth, Bontang Port, which contains non-oil and gas export goods worth 1.47 billion dollars, an increase of 210.87 percent compared to the previous period which was recorded at 473 million dollars.

"The fifth is the Muara Berau Port in Berau Regency. In the January-April 2022 period at this port there was no loading of export goods, but in January-April 2023 it was charged non-oil and gas for exports worth 748.42 million dollars," said Yusniar.

Meanwhile, a number of destination countries for non-oil and gas export goods in the January-April 2023 period, among others, to China worth 3.05 billion dollars, an increase of 30.83 percent compared to the same period the previous year which was recorded at 2.33 billion.

Then non-oil and gas exports to India with a value of 1.44 billion dollars, decreased 11.04 percent compared to the previous period of 1.62 billion dollars.

"Non-oil and gas exports to the Philippines for the January-April 2023 period were valued at 873.31 million dollars, an increase of 1.65 percent compared to the same period in 2022 which was recorded at 859.16 million dollars," said Yusniar.
