Floods In Dolo Sigi, Dozens Of Residents Refuge
PALU - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) noted that as many as 15 heads of families (KK) were forced to flee to safe places due to floods that hit Sambo Village, Dolo District, Sigi Regency.
"The flood occurred at around 01.10 WITA due to heavy rains that flushed the area," said Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of Central Sulawesi BPBD Andi Sembiring as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.
He said that the overflow of the Sambo River due to heavy rains had continued to pour since Sunday at 21.09 WITA to inundate residential areas.
As a result of the flood, he said, as many as 15 families consisting of 52 people with 9 toddlers and five elderly people fled to their families' homes.
"About 15 units of residents' houses were submerged, one unit of rice milling and 10 hectares of rice fields were also submerged," he said.
There were no casualties in this incident. The local BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) also helped evacuate affected residents and immediately collected data.

Affected residents also need logistics, especially ready-to-eat food and other urgent needs.
"Now the refugees are in good condition, for the time being they are taking refuge in the homes of their families and relatives," he said.
The condition of the water gradually receded but the residents remained on standby.
