Alpine Launches A110 Peak Pikes, Optimistic To Conquer Hill Climb Arena
JAKARTA - The French car brand and Renault's brother, Alpine, are back in international racing events.
After being involved in the F1 race over the past three years and will follow the durability racing world for 2024, Alpine also announced that it will follow the Pikes Peak International Hill CLimb which takes place in Colorado, USA.
Alpine collaborated with the Signatech racing team, building a car that would be included in Pikes Peak. They use the upgraded and modified A110 model according to the specifications of the Hill Climb arena.
Previously, the Alpine A110 had been tested in the Lurcy-Levis arena, France, April 25-26 and next week it will be tested again with a late-stage configuration before being tested last in Val Thorens, the Alps.
Alpine Chief Designer, Raphael Linari, said that Pikes Peak's A110 version is a wild car that will later become iconic. This car has a unique design with extreme aerodynamics and it admits that it is confident that it will win Hill Climb.
"This legendary event (Pikes Peak Hill Climb) is an endless source of inspiration to encourage our creativity and perfect the A110 while integrating limits related to performance," Linari said in his official statement.
Carrying Hill Climb's extreme design, the A110 Pikes Peak has a separate two-wing setup, coupling with the "Le Mans" styled fin shark, with a large diffuser on the back, as well as a giant front splitter that helps car aerodynamics become more optimal.
Although the manufacturer did not mention the engine used, they said that this car generates nearly 500 dk, where the highway version of A110 only produces 296 dk of power with a 1.8 liter turbocharged engine.
The A110 Peak Pikes will be piloted by French racer Raphagal Astier, who will work in developing this car until the racing event takes place on June 25.
