Couples In Cars Become Landslide Victims On Jalan West Sumatra-Riau Km22
JAKARTA - A minibus was hit by landslide material that occurred on Jalan West Sumatra-Riau Kilometer 22 to be precise in Aia Putih Kenagarian Sarilamak, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) at around 16.45 WIB.
"The landslide hit a car that was passing at the scene at the time of the incident, but there were no casualties," said Police Chief of the Limapuluh Kota Police AKBP Ricardo Condrat Yusuf, Sunday night, April 30.
He said the minibus contained a husband and wife, and they had been taken to the Kelok Sembilan Service Post to receive medical assistance.
The victims, who were travelers from West Sumatra, were reported to have suffered abrasions and bruises, at the time of the incident they were about to return to Pekanbaru.
Meanwhile, a black minibus was still at the landslide site waiting for evacuation, his condition seemed covered in mud and lay off the road.
"Luckily after being hit by landslide material, the car was held by a tree on the side of the road so it was not pushed into a ravine," he said.
Previously, a landslide occurred on Jalan West Sumatra-Riau Kilometer 22, precisely in Kenagarian Sarilamak Water, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra at around 16.45 WIB.
The natural disaster had paralyzed the flow of traffic connecting the West Sumatra area with Riau, its position ahead of the Kelok Sembilan Fly Over.

AKBP Ricardo said that during the work and cleaning of landslide materials, congestion occurred in both directions, either heading to West Sumatra or Riau.
The length of the queue for vehicles stuck in traffic is estimated at two to four Kilometers, due to the high volume of vehicles during the 2023 Eid backflow period.
At around 19.45 WIB, finally the heavy equipment belonging to the National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) arrived at the scene and immediately cleaned up the landslide material.
The cleaning of the material took about half an hour, at around 20.10 WIB, finally the road was able to be passed back in both directions.
The police appealed to motorists to remain careful when crossing the location after the landslide and always prioritize safety over speed.
