Anticipating Backflow Density, Contraflow Scheme Is Implemented On The Jagorawi Toll Road On Wednesday Afternoon
JAKARTA - Contraflow traffic engineering was implemented on the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Jakarta this afternoon, Wednesday, April 26. The goal is to anticipate an increase in the number of vehicles during backflow.
"To anticipate an increase in the volume of traffic that occurred on the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Jakarta, on the discretion of the Police, Jasa Marga applies contraflow from Km 21+800 to Km 8+800 of the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Jakarta," said Marketing and Communication Department Head of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division Panji Satriya in his statement, Wednesday, April 26.
The contraflow scheme has been implemented since 15:27 WIB. However, the limit for implementing traffic engineering has not been conveyed.
In addition, motorists are advised to adjust the travel time by implementing the scheme. Thus, traffic flow becomes smooth.
"Jasa Marga also urges road users to be able to ensure the adequacy of electronic card balances before starting the trip to avoid overcrowding when transacting at toll gates. Always obey traffic signs and follow directions from officers in the field," said Panji.
Meanwhile, PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol recorded that 171,101 vehicles were monitored heading to Jakarta via the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT) in the final period of leave with Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijri on April 24-25, 2023.
"The total volume of vehicles heading to the Jakarta area through GT Cikampek Utama has increased by 217.4 percent compared to normal traffic, which is around 53,910 vehicles," said VP. Corporate Secretary and Legal PT Jasamarga Transjawa Toll Ria Marlinda Paalo.
His party also noted that the volume of vehicles leaving Jakarta through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate was 58,166 vehicles, an increase of 13.5 percent compared to normal traffic of 51,229 vehicles.

PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol also recorded traffic volume in Central Java and East Java in the same period as details of 99,488 vehicles leaving Semarang via Kalikangkung GT, up 251.4 percent from normal traffic, namely 28,311 vehicles.
"For vehicles heading to Semarang, 13,502 vehicles were recorded, down 48.5 percent from normal traffic as many as 26,234 vehicles," he said.
