TNI Kicks Motorcycle In Bekasi Is An AU Elite Member Finally Apologizes And Is Sanctioned

JAKARTA - A TNI soldier who went viral on social media for kicking a female motorcyclist has asked for a maf and has been sanctioned by his superiors and units.

The soldier, known to have the initials Praka ANG, is a member of the 471 Air Defense Detachment (Denhanud) of the Indonesian Air Force's Quick Action Forces Command (Kopasgat). Kopasgat is an elite Indonesian Air Force troop.

"According to the instructions of the Indonesian Air Force leadership, the incident has been followed up by submitting an apology to the victim. The member concerned has also been sanctioned by his superiors," said Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service, First Marshal (Marsma) TNI Indan Gilang Buldansyah as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 25.

He conveyed that the Commander of the Air Defense Detachment 471 Pasgat Lieutenant Colonel Pas Bagus Teaching Pamungkas, representing the Indonesian Air Force Kopasgat, also immediately went to the victim, Sri Dewi Kemuning (21) at her house, Pondok Ranggon, Bekasi, Tuesday, to apologize.

"Father, I as the commander Praka ANG once again apologize profusely for the behavior of my members who made mistakes. Hopefully this will be a lesson for him," said Lieutenant Colonel Bagus to the victim's father.

He immediately gave Praka ANG the opportunity to apologize directly to Sri Dewi, her father, and her family. Sri Dewi Kemuning and her family also forgiven the incident.

The disgraceful actions of the Indonesian Air Force soldiers were caught on camera by a driver whose vehicle was right behind Praka ANG's motorbike and Sri Dewi's motorbike.

The incident occurred at the T-junction of Jalan Raya Hankam TNI Headquarters, Jatiwarna, Bekasi, Monday (24/4).

Praka ANG kicked Sri Dewi's motorbike after a conversation between the two people. Previously, Praka ANG accidentally hit the motorbike in front of her because the vehicle in front of her brake suddenly.

The Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service (Kadispenau), in the same written broadcast, also asked the public not to hesitate to report violations and disgraceful acts committed by members of the Indonesian Air Force.

"Please be able to report (the violation, ed.) to the nearest Indonesian Air Force unit," said Kadispenau.
