Unloading The Concrete U-Turn Barrier At The Santa Market Intersection, DKI Transportation Agency Feels The Impact Of Congestion
JAKARTA - The Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that he would return the Santa Market intersection, South Jakarta to its original state. This happened after an evaluation of the impact of the closure of the U-turn which resulted in traffic jams.
"So indeed, first, we hope for the function of Jalan Ciranjang. So yesterday, as soon as the first trial was carried out, on Jalan Ciranjang it was still functioning, as well as entering the west to Gunawarman. So, starting yesterday there were complaints from the public, so some portals were closed as a result, all traffic from the direction of Tendean then from Wijaya spilled over on Wolter Monginsidi Street so that the traffic jams were everywhere, and as a result, the tail could go south," Syafrin told reporters, Monday, April 17.
"This is also to the east, this was even yesterday. Tegal Parang tail reaches MT Haryono. This means that this means that what we evaluate then must be changed immediately," he continued.
Syafrin also said that the ticket crossing or zebra crossing, which is assisted by traffic aids, will not be dismantled. Because according to him it is very much needed for pedestrians.
"Indeed, the need for traffic light settings was used yesterday (which is in Wijaya). Later the arrangement will automatically follow the lights, right, the cross-section from Suryo when he crosses him enters Wolter Monginsidi Street, right here (Tendean in the Wolter direction) automatically once he gets red he can cross," he said.
Regarding the concrete barrier that had closed the Santa intersection, it has now been dismantled and will not be re-installed. However, with a note, one of them is the arrangement of parking in the Jalan Suryo area to Jalan Wolter Monginsidi.
In addition, the TransJakarta route will also be returned to its original route, namely entering Tendean. Because, previously the TransJakarta bus route had been diverted.
"Of course it was returned originally, by making some improvements. (For example) for TransJakarta services, which we used to turn into Wolter Monginsidi Street, will return, enter, go directly to Tendean, as well as we will also arrange parking on Jalan Suryo, Wolter Monginsidi Street and also Senopati," he said.
Then his party will also rearrange the traffic light. Including installing red lights that had been removed due to traffic engineering.
"So those from Wijaya can immediately get the green light to turn right to the east of Tendean Street," he concluded
