Electra E5, Buick's First Electric SUV
JAKARTA - Buick revealed the latest SUV to be sold soon, Buick Electra E5. This car is the first electric vehicle ever produced by the US manufacturer to be sold in China in the near future.Electra E5 has a fairly large body size. With a length of 4,892 mm, a width of 1,905 mm, a height of 1,684 mm, and a wheelbase that measures 2,954 mm. Buick embeds the Ultium General Motors platform on Electra E5.Launching from the Motor1 page, Jum'at, April 14, 2023, Buick Electra E5 is offered with two-wheel drive, driving all wheels thanks to single and double motors. Prospective buyers can choose a 68 kWh or 80 kWh battery as power in this SUV.Buick offers several variants on Electra E5, starting with the lowest variant Standard Range which can offer 241 dk as well as a 330 Nm torque that can go from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. The model is equipped with a battery that can make this SUV go at 545 km estimated for CLTC.There is also a variant of the Long Range model which has an electric motor with a power of 201 dk. However, for this version, a larger battery package is provided that can make the car go up to 620 km in full battery condition.Then for the top variant of Electra E5, the Avenire is equipped with a double electric motor which produces impressive performance with 283 dk and 465 Nm which can go from 0 to 100 km/hour within 6.7 seconds.Using a larger battery capacity, Electra E5 can cover a distance of 603 km when the battery is fully charged. Buick claims that the Avenir variant can charge from 30 to 80 percent within 28 minutes.Talking about the price, Buick set the price of Electra E5 for the Standard Range variant of 30,500 US dollars or around Rp449.3 million. Meanwhile, the luxury version, namely Avenire, is set at 40,700 or around Rp599.9 million.
It is possible that Buick will return to present an SUV-model electric vehicle in China in the middle of the year under the name Electra E4.
