Call Center 117 BNPB Biak Service Anticipates Disaster

PAPUA - Biak Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) provides call center 117 services to provide various disaster information for the community for 24 hours.

"Through the community call center service center, people can report disaster events, get information on disaster threat information services, field team communication to aid support related to disaster emergencies," said Head of BPBD Biak Numfor Otto PH Wanggai in Biak, Papua, Thursday, April 6, confiscated by Antara.

He admitted that the reporter or resident who provided the disaster report must state the identity of the name and full address that is the location of the reporting unit.

Then residents' reporters, he continued, are welcome to report everything according to what is a complaint or need is briefly congested and clear.

"After the caller delivers the disaster service to the call center, he will receive special services by officers who have been directed to the location according to the report," said Wanggai.

Wanggai said BNPB opened a call center service from the central government to districts or cities to make it easier for people to report natural disasters in their area.

Wanggai added that BPBD Biak will coordinate a number of officers in this agency to become operators of call center 117 in Biak Numfor Regency.

Wanggai hopes that the BPBD call center will provide disaster information to the public in an effort to reduce disaster risk in the community.

"We conduct broad socialization to residents in a sustainable manner in community groups and volunteers as well as government agencies as BPBD partners," said Wanggai.

To support the operation of call center 117, communication equipment was prepared at the BPBD office of Biak Numfor Regency, Jalan Majapahit, Samofa District.
