Can Carry Out Their Own Presidential Candidates, PDIP Still Opens The Possibility Of Entering The Joint KIB-KIR Joint Coalition
The PDI-P (PDIP) has a "gold ticket" that can nominate its own president and vice president because it has seats in the DPR above 22 percent.
However, the party bearing the bull symbol remains open to the possibility of joining political parties and coalitions in facing the 2024 presidential election. This includes being interested in the idea of forming a major coalition of parties in the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) and the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KIR).
This was conveyed by PDIP politician Rifqi Karsayuda when he was a resource person in the Embargo Talk Episode 7 entitled "The PDIP Strategy Faces the Grand Coalition as monitored through the Vibrasi YouTube channel, Thursday, April 6.
"Although we have a golden ticket in quotes, we have seats above 22 percent in Senayan where the minimum requirement for presidential and vice-presidential candidacy is only 20 percent, the tradition built at PDIP is a mutual cooperation tradition, as Bung Karno teaches, and we are always open to building a coalition," said Rifqi.
However, regarding the nomination of the names of presidential and vice presidential candidates from PDIP, Rifqi said that the full power of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri was fully approved. The prerogative of the PDIP General Chair is in accordance with the AD/ART which was decided in the 5th PDIP Bali Congress in 2019.
"The right is prerogativeal or entirely to the General Chairperson to determine who the presidential and vice presidential candidates are, when is the right momentum, with what coalition," he said.
