Case Of Illegal Senpi Ownership, Dito Mahendra Threatened With Life In Prison

JAKARTA - Entrepreneur Dito Mahendra is threatened with a maximum sentence of life imprisonment in the case of possession of 9 illegal firearms (senpi).

"Regarding storage, it has senpi or explosives that are not equipped with threatening documents for life," said Director of General Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency Brigadier General Djuhandhani to reporters, Tuesday, April 4.

The sanctions are contained in the Emergency Law number 12 of 1951. In Article 1 paragraph 1 it is written that anyone, who without the right to enter Indonesia, makes, receives, tries to obtain, submit or try to hand over, control, carry.

Then, have supplies to him or have in his property, store, transport, hide, use or remove from Indonesia any firearm, munitions or any explosives. Sentenced to death or life imprisonment or a temporary prison sentence of up to 20 years.

However, in handling this case, investigators continue to prioritize the principle of presumption of innocence. This is because until now the owner of the 9 illegal firearms is not known. However, it is undeniable that the illegal senpi was found at Dito Mahendra's house.

"Winning weapons are obtained in a house but we don't know to what extent, even though we make sure that the house owned by arau is inhabited by someone," said Djuhandhani.

The case of illegal possession of Dito Mahendra has been upgraded to the investigation stage. The increase was based on the results of the case title.

There were 9 rifles found at Dito Mahendra's house which were declared illegal. Because, there is no official letter.

Firearms that were declared illegal include a Clock 17, S&W Revolver, a 19 Zev Clock pistol, and an Angstatd Arms pistol.
