This Is Said Aqil's Words About The Prohibition Of Iftar Together

JAKARTA - The head of the Islamic Ormas Friendship Institute (LPOI) Kiai Said Aqil Siradj alluded to the Government which prohibits breaking the fast together because it considers that it has caused a commotion and distrust in the community.

"In general, it offends Muslims because this has become a culture," Said said at the Tadarus Nationality and the preparation of the Indonesian Muslim Leadership Roadmap in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 25.

According to Said, the government's attitude is a form of excessive intervention in the spaces of religious life, which have been the domains of religious leaders and religious organizations.

However, he continued, try to take over, try to force it through tendable policy interventions, and it is alleged that it is quite psychologically repressive for the people.

Even though the government has explained the regulation, Said thinks that it causes a commotion. In fact, in time there will be distrust of the people if they allow it to continue.

The former chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board criticized that the Government before issuing policies or prohibitions be considered both and bad for the wider community so that wisdom arises in a regulation issued.

According to him, it is permissible for the Government to make an appeal, for example, not to use the government budget when breaking the fast together.

"Opening together is everywhere, in the mosque, Mecca is open together. Amir-amir, the family of the kingdom is open together is normal. It only means good so that there is no waste, just emphasize it, don't be forbidden to open together," said Said.

Responding to this, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD said that Said's statement was part of democracy and an assessment from the public.

"Yes, it's okay, that's democracy, there must be an assessment from the public," said Mahfud.

Mahfud himself felt that the regulation also had an effect on him, who had actually prepared to open with several sessions. However, with this rule, you are forced to open it together only with your wife.

Regarding the policy as an overintervention attitude of the government, Mahfud has a positive view that it is part of the constructive criticality conveyed by the community.

"Yes, it's okay, thank you, as criticism must always exist, that's called democracy, the name is that Muslims feel they own this Indonesia," said Mahfud.

The national medal was attended by 14 Islamic mass organizations members of the LPOI. Presenting the mainnote speaker of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD and the Leadership of the Islamic Ormas Friendship Institute (LPOI) Kiai Said Aqil Siradj.
