OTT Mayor Of Cimahi, KPK Also Arrested 9 Other People
JAKARTA - In addition to the arrest of the Mayor of Cimahi, Ajay Muhammad Priatna, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) secured nine other people in a hand arrest operation (OTT) which was held this morning. So, the total number of people arrested by the KPK currently reaches 10 people.
The exact number of parties arrested in this operation was conveyed by the Acting Spokesperson for the KPK in the field of prosecution Ali Fikri.
"Friday, November 27, 2020, at around 10:40 WIB the KPK has secured about 10 people," Ali said in a written statement to reporters, Friday, November 27.
The ten people, he said, were arrested in the Bandung area, West Java. As for the elements of parties that were arrested by the KPK in this operation, apart from the mayor, there were also Cimahi City Government officials and private parties.
"This case is related to alleged corruption related to the construction permit for a hospital in Cimahi," he said.
Currently, the party arrested by investigators is at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, Central Jakarta. Ali said, they were still carrying out intensive checks.
"Currently, the Corruption Eradication Commission is still conducting investigations on the parties who were secured and have 1x24 hours to determine the status of the parties under investigation," he said.
Previously reported, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri confirmed that the KPK team made the arrest of Ajay, who is also the Chairperson of the Cimahi City PDI Perjuangan DPC.
Regarding this arrest, KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango has asked the public to be patient. This is because the investigating team is currently working.
"While the team is still in the field. So give time to the team in the field to work," he said.
"The name of this kind of activity is actually secretly and confident in nature, very, very closed," added Nawawi.
