Jokowi Supports Digitalization Systems That Can Connect Nahdiyin Around The World

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) supports the digitalization scheme in the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization ecosystem to consolidate Nahdiyin families around the world.

"This digitalization will also connect Nahdiyin around the world, share commitments, work together, jointly improve self-quality, jointly seek solutions for the Republic of Indonesia and the welfare of the people," said President Jokowi when opening the National Conference (Munas) Alim Ulama and the 2023 Nahdlatul Ulama Grand Conference (NU) at the Al Hamid Islamic Boarding School, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Monday, September 18, confiscated by Antara.

President Jokowi said digitalization in the NU organization was the initiative of the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Yahya Cholil Staquf to improve the way the organization works.

According to him, the number of NU members who are now spread across various regions in Indonesia and abroad is a great strength.

"The suspects are spread throughout Indonesia and even spread across various countries. It is extraordinary, this shows NU's strong commitment to safeguarding Indonesia, in maintaining Pancasila, in maintaining the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, in maintaining tolerance, and maintaining unity and harmony," said President Jokowi.

At the same event, PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf said the digitization scheme was part of the management of the NU Family Maslahat Movement (GKM) as a forum for consolidating NU extended families at the grassroots level to organizational networks at the global level.

"In 2024, our target is that all NU affairs, starting from communication, correspondence, information, to transactions, are carried out with digital technology," he said.

According to Gus Yahya, his nickname, digitalization is a demand for a world situation that is now moving dynamically and quickly.

"We must not wait long to move strategically, prepare for future struggles so as not to be left behind," said Gus Yahya.
