Coldplay Concerts And The U-17 Cup For Garuda Indonesia Passenger Traffic Experience An Increase

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia airline revealed that holding Coldplay concerts and the U-17 World Cup had an impact on increasing the number of passengers in the company.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, admitted that there was an increase in the number of airline passengers ahead of the Coldplay concert. However, he admitted, the increase that occurred was not very significant.

As is known, British band Coldplay held a concert at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium in Jakarta today. This concert also received a fairly high interest from fans in Indonesia.

"There is an increase, but it is not too significant," said Irfan when met at the DPR RI, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 15.

But unfortunately, Irfan did not specify the percentage increase in the number of passengers on the state-owned airline. Even so, Irfan said many Coldplay fan bases came long before the concert.

"There aren't many, yes, there are one or two flights, it looks like more people in Jakarta, the second maybe they are in advance," he said.

Irfan also said that the company felt the positive impact of holding the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia. He said, the increase occurred in the destination of Surabaya, East Java.

Many teams from the country use our planes. And several countries had time to go to Bali first. We have additional flights to Surabaya. Kmaren and the President flew from Surabaya, I happened to have a meeting in Singapore. And when I headed to Surabaya, the flight was quite amazingly full, on the day of the opening of the world Cup," he said.
