Laying Off 126 People, Nestle Ensures Affected Employees Get Compensation

JAKARTA - PT Nestle Indonesia ensures that employees affected by layoffs will receive compensation in accordance with applicable regulations. There are 126 employees affected.

"We ensure that employees remain our priority, and for this reason, we will provide them with appropriate compensation, by fully complying with applicable laws and regulations and will always treat every employee fairly and with respect," wrote Nestle Indonesia management, written on Wednesday, November 15.

Nestle management said that in recent years, the company has faced various significant challenges in the market which have had an impact on factory production volumes in various product categories.

To face these dynamics, Nestle Indonesia has carried out a thorough evaluation of market needs and demands, and redesigned the organization to respond to changes more effectively while adhering to its commitment to maintaining business continuity and operational sustainability.

Nestle management admitted that they had reviewed and considered all available options before finally making the final decision to terminate employment (PHK).

"In the current situation and conditions, with great regret, several employee roles will be affected as a result of this change, at one of our factories, Kejayan, because they no longer have a role in this business transformation," wrote management.

In implementing this decision, Nestle Indonesia is committed to treating employees fairly and respectfully, and fully complying with all applicable laws and policies.

"The company will do its best for the affected employees and ensure there is no disruption in its services to our consumers and business partners in Indonesia," they said.
