Temple Tourism Park Uses Clean Electricity From PLN

PT PLN (Persero) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) to develop sustainable destinations with clean energy.

PLN's Retail and Commerce Director Edi Srimulyanti said that his party is ready to support the development of green tourism by presenting environmentally friendly electricity.

Moreover, the destinations managed by TWC are national cultural assets that must be preserved, namely Borobudur Temple Tourism Park, Prambanan, Ratu Boko, and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.

"So now the use of green energy is a necessity or obligation that we must start from now on. Regarding green tourism, we fully support it because future energy is electrical energy," he said.

Not only that, the parties will encourage reducing transportation emissions into the TWC area through increasing the use of electric vehicles and their devices.

Director of Marketing, Services and Business Development of PT TWC Hetty Herawati said this signing was an effort to realize sustainable tourism through the use of environmentally friendly energy in tourist destinations managed by TWC.

"So in the context of this green tourism, we have taken several steps, including policies in which all areas, motorized vehicles cannot enter the area, we impose the last parking center, as well as in the TMII area," he said.

Hetty also gave her appreciation to PLN in presenting SPKLU in the PT TWC area.

This synergy, he continued, is a real step to encourage the readiness of tourist objects and their supporting components in realizing Quality Tourism.

"In the future, we hope that this area can continue and not only in the context of facility development, but can also carry out campaigns in terms of developing tourism areas that are free or low in carbon emissions," concluded Hetty.
