JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will distribute infrastructure, facilities and utilities (PSU) assistance as an effort to encourage housing developers to build more houses for low-income people (MBR), especially subsidized houses.
The Director General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto, said that PSU assistance is development assistance in the form of providing components of infrastructure, facilities, and public utilities for housing to increase decent housing for low-income people.
"The existence of a PSU is expected to be able to make a subsidized home environment that is more comfortable and encourage low-income people to live in decent and quality houses," said Iwan in his official statement, Thursday, November 9.
Meanwhile, Director of Public Houses and Commercial Fitrah Nur said that the distribution of PSU assistance was needed so that developers were more enthusiastic about building houses for MBR.
His party also dispatched a team to carry out field verification and socialization to local developers and governments related to PSU assistance.
"The form of PSU development assistance includes roads, drainage, drinking water supply systems as well as infrastructure and waste facilities. Meanwhile, road assistance includes residential roads, connecting roads between housing or public housing access roads," said Fitrah.
Fitrah said that PSU development assistance is intended for large-scale housing and housing other than large-scale housing. Large-scale housing includes public housing and housing with balanced housing, while the composition of large-scale housing consists of one housing or more than one housing.
