Asked To Test The Quality Of The Jabodebek LRT Roller, This Is What The Minister Of Industry Agus Gumiwang Said

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has been asked to check and conduct a quality test of the light rail transit (LRT) wheel which is considered not to meet product standards.

Responding to this, the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said, domestic products are still in the process of leading to good quality goods.

"Look, right, the process goes to the national product (requires time) to be close to perfection. In the past, in the 70s, Japan could not directly produce something perfect (perfect) and the quality lasted, there was a process," said Minister of Industry Agus when met by VOI at his office, Thursday, November 2.

Agus said Indonesian products should be given the opportunity to be able to host in their own country.

"Yes, give Indonesia the opportunity to be able to go through the process, don't keep cutting it like that. Give it a chance, it's working again," he said.

Agus assessed that when the process towards good quality is cut, Indonesia will only depend on imports.

"Then in the end, we use imports, narratives that are built in such a way. Domestic industries are not ready, domestic industries have poor quality. It makes it easy, but it doesn't develop an industrial structure, there is no added value," he concluded.

It is known that member of Commission VII DPR RI Mulyanto criticized the quality of the LRT pieces made by PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) or INKA experiencing wear-out after two months of operation.

Mulyanto also asked the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) and the Ministry of SOEs to strongly reprimand the state-owned company.
