Telkom Boss Maintains Financial Performance To Maintain High Dividends

JAKARTA - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) is committed to keeping the company's performance growing. This is in order to share high dividends with shareholders.

President Director of PT Telkom Indonesia Ririek Adriansyah said the dividend distribution decision depends on the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS).

According to him, dividend distribution, including interim dividends, depends on the needs of Telkom's expansion.

"Telkom will continue to maintain the company's growing performance," he said, quoting Antara.

Based on data, in the last five years, Telkom has routinely distributed a high dividend ratio in the range of 60 percent to 90 percent. In 2017, Telkom distributed dividends with a ratio of 75 percent of 2016's net profit with a dividend value of IDR 16.6 trillion or IDR 167.66 per share. This figure includes special cash dividends of IDR 3.32 trillion.

Furthermore, in the following year, Telkom distributed dividends of Rp. 16.23 trillion or Rp. 163.82/share, including special cash dividends of Rp. 5.4 trillion. The amount of this dividend is equivalent to the ratio of 90 percent of the 2017 net profit.

In 2019, Telkom again distributed dividends of IDR 15.26 trillion or IDR 154.07 per share, including special cash dividends of IDR 4.06 trillion. This dividend value is equivalent to 81.78 percent of the company's 2018 net profit.

In 2020, Telkom, based on shareholder approval, approved the distribution of dividends worth IDR 16.64 trillion or equivalent to IDR 168.01 per share, including special cash dividends of IDR 4.16 trillion. This dividend value is equivalent to 80 percent of Telkom's 2020 net profit.

Then in 2021, Telkom will distribute dividends of IDR 14.85 trillion or IDR 149.97 per share, with a ratio of 60 percent of net profit in 2021. This year's dividends are purely cash dividends and there are no special cash dividends.
