Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates In 2024 Asked To Present A Strong And Inclusive Indonesian Economic Growth Strategy

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo) Shinta Widjaja Kamdani said the business world hopes that every presidential candidate (candidate) and vice presidential candidate (cawapres) can present a strong, inclusive, adaptive Indonesian economic growth strategy.

"The business world hopes that every candidate for presidential and vice presidential candidates can present Indonesia's strong, inclusive, adaptive economic growth strategy, in order to increase Indonesia's trust in the eyes of the international community," Shinta said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 23.

In addition, he hopes that the three pairs of candidates can support job creation and community welfare by developing human resources and innovation in order to encourage Indonesia to be more competitive and competitive. The three pairs of candidates are also expected to be able to strategically lead Indonesia to get out of the trap of middle-income countries (midlle income traps) to accelerate the target of becoming a developed country.

"Continuing better economic policies, especially structural reforms to maintain a conducive business and investment climate and implement good regulatory practices in the entire process of making economic policies," he said.

Shinta added that each candidate is expected to be able to continue bureaucratic reform as an implementation of good governance for the government administration system. As well as maintaining consistency in security and political stability.

It is known that there will be three pairs of presidential/vice-presidential candidates to contest the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres), namely, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar; Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD; and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The candidate pairs Anies Baswedan-Cak Imin and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD have registered with the KPU on Thursday, October 19.

Meanwhile, Prabowo and Gibran plan to register as presidential/vice-presidential candidates to the KPU on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
