Tomorrow Fast Trains Start Commercial Operations, KAI Provides Feeder Trains For Bandung City Destinations

PT KAI provides Train (KA) Feeder services for passengers who stop at Padalarang, Cimahi, and Bandung Stations.

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Bandung high-speed train or bettersh will start commercial operations on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

To support KAI connectivity, it provides Feeder Train services that stop at Padalarang Station, Cimahi Station, and Bandung Station.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said that high-speed train customers can enjoy this Feeder train by buying bundling tickets at a Fast Train fare for IDR 300,000.

"The presence of the Feeder Train with a travel time of 19 minutes from Padalarang Station to Bandung Station or vice versa, will make it easier for people to get to the Fast Train station via a transportation system that is free of congestion and on time," said Joni in an official statement, Tuesday, October 17.

Joni said that currently the number of trips prepared at the initial stage is 14 trips to and from every day.

However, in the future the number of Feeder Train trips will adjust to the number of Fast Train trips.

"By using the connected fast train service, the total time it takes between the center of Bandung and Jakarta is approximately 1 hour. KAI ensures that Feeder train trips operate on time like existing KAI services," said Joni.

Furthermore, Joni said that a series of Feeder trains consists of 4 train units with a maximum capacity of 393 passengers. To accommodate more passengers, KAI can string 2 Feeder trains into 1 series so that the capacity increases 2 times.

"KA Feeder is equipped with baggage rack and toilet facilities to increase customer comfort," he said.

KAI ensures that the transfer between modes, between platforms, the availability of waiting rooms, and facilities provided for customers is made as comfortable and as easy as possible. This is one of KAI's efforts in fostering public interest in switching to public transportation through interconnected and integrated rail services.

"The presence of this Feeder train is expected to be an attraction for the public to use the HIGH Speed Train which is the first high-speed train in Southeast Asia," said Joni.
