JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) through the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) has trained as many as 253,145 people through the 3 in 1 Education and Training program, with 27,769 of them being participants in 2022.
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said, Training 3 in 1 is a training program that provides three services at once in one package, namely competency-based training, competency certification, and direct job placement in the industry.
"Training is carried out using curriculum and modules that refer to industrial needs so that a link and match between training institutions and industrial companies is formed to produce competent and ready-to-work training graduates," said Minister of Industry Agus in a written statement, Thursday, September 14.
Agus said, at the end of the training, participants participated in competency certification aimed at ensuring that the training graduates were competent in their fields.
There are a number of training sectors that have produced competent graduates, including the textile, chemical, animated, agro, manufacturing, and automotive sectors.
"This program is one of our efforts to meet the needs of human resources in the industrial sector which is getting higher. The average need for our industrial human resources is 682,000 per year. It is in normal conditions," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of BPSDMI of the Ministry of Industry Masrokhan stated that the industry 3 in 1 vocational training program was held at seven Industrial Education and Training Centers (BDI) spread across several parts of Indonesia, which are also work units under BPSDMI.
"BDI Kemenperin is spread across seven cities, namely Medan, Padang, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, and Makassar," he said.
The implementation of training by BDI is not only intended to supply workers in the area, but also to all regions in Indonesia.
To support its activities, all BDIs have been equipped with a Professional Certification Institute (LSP) and Competency Test Places (TUK) to ensure the mastery of the competence of all training participants who will work for industrial companies.
According to Masrokhan, the 3 in 1 Education and Training program is in line with the downstream industry policy that is being promoted by the government.

"The 3 in 1 Training Program can help run downstream industry, because it requires competent human resources and qualified skills to process raw materials into materials with higher value," he said.
In the agro sector, for example, there is training for processing oil palm, cocoa, fish, rubber, and furniture. There are also training on packaging so that the products made can be marketed more attractively.
According to him, in addition to the 3 in 1, there are various BPSDMI Kemenperin programs to improve the competence of national industrial human resources.
"So, apart from implementing the competency-based industrial vocational training program system 3 in 1, we also consistently continue to implement educational and training patterns that aim to provide basic skills (skilling), skills improvement (up-skilling) or skill updating (re-skilling) for workers based on the current needs of the industrial world," he said.
