JAKARTA - The Ministry of State Civil Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratics (Kemenpan RB) ensures that the removal of honorary power will be postponed until December 2024.

PANRB Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas said the resignation was not allowed for the recruitment of new honorary staff.

"No, there should be no new recruitment of honorary staff. Right, this data has been entered, he cannot have new honorary data," said Anas in Jakarta, Monday, September 11.

Anas said that his party would tighten it by issuing Government Regulations (PP) so that honorary staff would not increase.

"Later, we will be strict in the PP so that it doesn't keep repeating like this," he said.

He added that usually the filling of civil servants is regulated in detail (detail) in the Law (UU) so that sometimes it can be two years of civil servant procurement and usually the Regional Government (Pemda) that fills the vacancy is in the form of honorary staff.

"So far, the filling in of civil servants is regulated in detail in the law so that sometimes it can be procured for two years. Well, in the future ASN filling doesn't have to be once every two years, but at any time," he added.

As previously reported, the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas confirmed that there will be no mass layoffs of honorary workers in November 2023.

Azwar explained that the number of non-state civil servants (ASN) in Indonesia currently reaches 2.3 million people. However, after cutting or layoffs since 2007 the number has not even decreased.

"Our current ASN is 2.3 million after we counted. (Section) of administration of 735 thousand, imagine that our administration is still high even though the digital is still running. If we check that digital spending, friends are still running, but the technical staff is still increasing. It means, this is an anomaly and we have to arrange this gradually," said Azwar in Denpasar, Bali, Monday, September 4.

He explained, in the layoff stage I from 860 thousand non-ASN only 60 thousand remained. Meanwhile, in 2018 there were 444 thousand non-ASN and currently it has reached 2.3 million.

"We see that in 2007 we have arranged, the layoffs I from 860 thousand are only 60 thousand. Then, 2012 did not pass 438 thousand, 2017, and 2018 we saw that there were 444 (900) left in 2018. In 2018, then the decision was no longer allowed. there is an honorary PP (Government Regulation), and given the last five years in 2023 in November," he said.

"So, we were given the last five years of the November transition next year and it turns out that after we recorded it was not reduced from 400 thousand additions, (now) 2.3 million. This is the problem today to make this happen," he added.
