Jabodebek LRT Experiences Disturbance, Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya Apologizes

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi opened his voice about a number of accidents that occurred during the Jabodebek LRT operation today. He said this discussion would be an evaluation of his party.

Furthermore, Budi also admitted that the Jabodebek LRT operating system had not been running perfectly. Therefore, he said, the Ministry of Transportation would coordinate with related parties.

The parties in question are PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero), and PT LEN Industri and Siemens AG who are responsible for the Jabodebek LRT signaling aspect.

"We do not deny that this is not a perfect operating system. So indeed if there are shortcomings, we apologize," he said at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 30.

Budi said, the government and related parties are still learning to improve and improve the good system in terms of facilities and infrastructure for the Jabodebek LRT so that community services run optimally.

Budi also admitted that he would return to try out the Jabodebek LRT this afternoon or tomorrow morning. This is to evaluate the operation of the Jabodebek LRT.

"Sore later or tomorrow morning I will make a visit to conduct an evaluation what should be done," he said.

Previously reported, Jabodebek Public Relations Manager, Kuswardoyo, confirmed the disturbance that occurred at the Jabodebek LRT this morning. However, now it is back to normal.

He said, the disruption to the Jabodebek LRT power outage occurred due to the power substation that died at Halim Station. He said the disturbance had been repaired by Adhi Karya.

"The disturbance that occurred in Halim where there was a power outage was caused by an electrical TPPS disturbance, resulting in an LRT operational disruption," he told reporters, Wednesday, August 30.

"Currently the train is running normally and we have coordinated with Adhikarya who is responsible for the TPPS," he continued.

Not only power outages, said Kuswardoyo, Jabodebek LRT operations were also disrupted due to disturbances in the train series. The train that experienced the disturbance had been moved to the Jabodebek LRT Depot for repairs.
