JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said Indonesia is one of the few countries with fast, consistent, and inclusive economic recovery. He estimates that Indonesia's economic growth in 2024 will be at 5.2 percent.

In fact, said Jokowi, economic growth over the last seven quarters, since the end of 2021, has consistently been above 5.0 percent.

"Economic growth in 2024 is estimated at 5.2 percent. Macroeconomic stability will continue to be maintained," he said in a speech at the 2024 RAPBN, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 16.

According to Jokowi, the economic recovery from the rapid and strong impact of COVID-19 has brought Indonesia to class, re-entering the upper middle income country (UPper- Middle Income Countries) group in 2022.

"Indonesia's economic recovery continues," he said.

For this reason, Jokowi also reminded that the conducive and peaceful relationship in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections and Elections must be realized in order to increase short-term economic optimism.

"The implementation of the Law on Harmonization of Tax Regulations, the Central and Regional Financial Relations Act, and the Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law will also provide positive benefits for structural strengthening," he said.

On this occasion, Jokowi also mentioned state revenues. He said, income next year must be more optimal.

"State income in 2024 is encouraged to be more optimal while maintaining the investment climate, the sustainability of the business world, and environmental sustainability," he said.
