Increase Contribution To Education And Environment, Pupuk Kaltim Holds Mutual Greeting Program

PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) in its efforts to increase its contribution to education and the environment, held the Water Source and Environment Program for the 2023 Future (Sapa Saling) through the Employee Voluntary Initiation (Evolution) initiative.

The program, which was implemented at Embung Pupuk Kaltim and SDN 014, Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency, includes a number of important initiatives. One of them is the launch of the clean water access pipeline program at IKN Nusantara and a learning program regarding the environment by volunteers from Pupuk Kaltim employees for students at SDN 014 Sepaku.

The Director of Operations of PT Pupuk Kaltim, Hanggara Patrianta, expressed his commitment to helping the sustainability of the surrounding community, one of which is through a nursery program which is also part of our efforts in reducing factory carbon in addition to providing access to clean water.

"Assistance in education is also very important, and we realize that this field requires a lot of support," he said, in a written statement, Thursday, July 27.

In line with that, PT Pupuk Kaltim's Corporate Secretary, Teguh Ismartono added, the company's main task as part of a state-owned enterprise in addition to seeking profit is to empower the surrounding community, which is in line with the direction of the Ministry of SOEs.

"Our focus is on three sectors, human resources, the environment, and MSMEs," he explained.

In the future, support from the surrounding community, local governments and central governments will continue to be needed so that business processes run better. "Of course, if performance and benefits are better, the contribution to the surrounding community is also greater," he explained.

Public enthusiasm is considered very good for the presence of Pupuk Kaltim through ongoing programs. It is hoped that the future good support for companies can make the company more known to the public, especially in supporting the success of IKN and Bontang City as IKN buffer areas.

Through this initiative, Pupuk Kaltim also opens opportunities for employees to participate directly in various programs that have social and environmental impacts. These initiatives not only show Pupuk Kaltim's commitment to education and the environment, but also reflect the principles of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) which continue to be put forward in the company's business activities.

In addition to the Mutual Greeting program, Evolution has also initiated a number of other contributions, such as the Waste Care and Coral Reef (Frankly) Action Action program, the InFormAction (Investing in Farming and Forest for Climate Action) program, and the Bejana (Source Air Maintained, Happy Life) program. All of these programs involve the active participation of all employees in an effort to make a real contribution to the environment and society.

With this initiative, Pupuk Kaltim hopes to increase work and life balance in the company environment, as well as show its strong commitment to making a greater contribution to society and the environment in the future.
