The Ministry of Trade launched the 38th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) with the theme Sustainable Trade for Global Economic Resilience, today. The potential for transactions targeted at this exhibition reached 11 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 167.6 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 15,238 per dollar).

Zulhas is optimistic that the implementation of TEI in a hybrid format will be able to encourage the realization of the target potential for these transactions.

Hopefully this year it can be higher than last year's potential transaction achievement. We are grateful for last year's cooperation from Indonesian ambassadors who brought in potential buyers, state-owned enterprises, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, local governments who have sent their best MSMEs to TEI, and business actors. We will repeat the cooperation this year and we will do even better," he said.

We are trying to open a new market. For example, South Asia with a population of 2 billion which includes Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. Middle East with a population of 500 million people, as well as Africa with a population of 1.4 billion people. So, we continue to maximize traditional markets and we work on non-traditional markets," he said.
