Viral Kena Tariff Rp724,000, Jasamarga Calls Cikampek Toll Drivers Violating Regulations

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk through its subsidiary PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol raised its voice regarding the viral video of road users who were charged a tariff of IDR 724,000 on the Cikampek Toll Road to Bandung.

Jasamarga admitted that he immediately conducted a search in the field after learning about the incident. Jasamarga found that the driver had violated the toll road.

VP Corporate Secretary and Legal PT Jasamarga Transjawa Toll Ria Marlinda Paallo said that based on the results of searches in the field, it was found that road users made incoming transactions through GT Cikampek Utama 1 and exited GT Cikampek Utama 2.

"The transaction is a transaction that is not in accordance with the direction of the trip," he said in an official statement, written Tuesday, June 27.

As a result of this error, said Ria, toll road users were subject to fines in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 15 of 2005 concerning Toll Roads.

Pada PP Nomor 15 Tahun 2005 ini disebutkan bahwa pengguna jalan tol wajib membayar denda sebesar dua kali tarif tol jarak terjauh pada sebuah ruas jalan tol dengan sistem tertutup apabila:

1. Cannot show proof of entry to the toll road when paying the toll road, including because the e-Toll is lost or because it does not use the same e-Toll when transactions enter and leave;

2. Show evidence of damaged entry when paying the toll road;

3. Cannot show correct entry sign evidence or which is in accordance with the direction of the trip when paying the toll road, including by turning around the median of the toll road and/or before the payment transaction toll gate.

Referring to PP No. 15 of 2005, said Ria, the road user violated point 3 of the regulation. Where Jasamarga considered the driver to have committed a violation, namely turning back on the toll road.

Furthermore, Ria explained that the calculation of the fine of Rp724,000 was based on the furthest tariff from GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to Kalikangkung GT, Batang-Semarang Toll Road, which was Rp352,000 multiplied by two, bringing the total to Rp704,000.

This amount, continued Ria, was added by the open toll tariff for the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road in the amount of Rp. 20,000. So that the fine imposed on road users was Rp. 724,000.

"The fines due to this transaction have been settled on the same day," he explained.
