Ministry Of Finance Reminds Bumdes Not To Turn Off People's Criticized Business

The Indonesian Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reminded every village-owned enterprise (bumdes) in the country not to carry out economic activities that have been carried out by the community to prevent the death of businesses initiated or developed by the people.

"Bumdes should not carry out economic activities that have been carried out by the community," said Director of the General Transfer Fund of the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance at the Ministry of Finance, Adriyanto, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 26.

Basically, said Adriyanto, in addition to creating new jobs (businesses), bumdes must also be a kind of aggregator or supervisor for businesses that have been developed by the community.

For example, the bumdes management can find a market (consumer) for a business developed by residents outside of their home village. This includes looking for solutions to increase the production of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

"For example, in the catfish business developed by the community, the bumdes can play a role in how the catfish can be sold to other villages," he also said.

Especially in West Sumatra, the graduate of The Australian National University said that there are many aspects or resources that can actually be developed by the community, especially the bumdes.

Currently, the province is considered to have only focused on developing tourism aspects, but has not been able to touch or work on other resources.

"Let's think about how to explore sources that can drive the economy in West Sumatra," he said.

Vice Chancellor IV Unand for Planning, Research, Innovation and Cooperation Dr. Hefrizal Handra said higher education is ready to support economic development, including bumdes.

One of these supports is by presenting a science technology park (STP) which in general aims to produce various kinds of innovations for processed products.

"STP Unand will also provide guidance to bumdes in the context of product innovation," he said again.
